I’m Back Baby

Hiatus

Hi everyone! I would like to announce a brief Hiatus from my blog. The point of my blog is to better myself, my viewers and... well thats all who will be benefited by such. -_-. I am benefited because I can learn about this fascinating and frightening world or fear. I also get to better my abilities at cardsmith. My viewers benefit by being able to contribute to the cards with feedback as well as to learn about fear. My Hiatus is focused mainly on the first benefit I listed for myself. I want to take a brief hiatus to brainstorm and remake cards. I need my hiatus in order to catch up on homework and to study. I will of course still be researching for my blog, but much less of my time will be spent this way. I hope you all can understand. My account will likely be much more active in the near future as I create, remake, delete, and improve upon my cards. Ranshi922

Ailurophobia

Image
Ailurophobia - fear of cats --------------------------------------------------------------------------- WORD HISTORY: Ailurophobia is derived from Phobos and Ailuros. Phobos, meaning fear, and Ailuros meaning cat. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS: To be honest, the symptoms are more or less the same as any other phobia. I will probably only have a symptom section every few. Comment if you would prefer for me to list symptoms every time, or just every now and then. Got it? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCIENCE: I am personally a dog person, but there are those who really love cats, there are those who don't particularly like cats, but someone with Ailurophobia is downright terrified of cats. Ailurophobia is a defensive tactic used by the subconscious to protect oneself. Many times, people with this fear, don't know why they fear cats, merely that they do and always have....

Agrizoophobia

Agrizoophobia - the fear of wild animals The SCIENCE: Alright... This will be fun for me. Any of you who have been following my blog for a while will know that I love to dive into the ancient past of human evolution to explain away fears. Because of that, this is like Christmas come early 😆😨. For the explanation of Agrizoophobia, we will need to dive into the time before civilization; a time that was from the days of the Homo Erectus. Ancient humans needed to be careful; everything was in search of food and they were as good as any. This meant that we needed to be cautious of our surroundings, including the animals. The evolving human brain adapted and in it became the hardwired idea that wild animals are to be feared and avoided. As humans developed into the Homo Sapien, we kept out of danger by staying away from animals that were potentially dangerous. As societies developed, the main sources of food were grown crops and fish, because by farming and fishing, rather than hun...

Agliophobia

Agliophobia - the fear of pain Me (to me in my head): Do I really  need to explain this one? Me (I’ll call that first “Me” Me1 and this one Me2): Yes. Me1: Why? Me2: Because you already did several posts rather lazily and we don’t want to appear too lazy! Me1: Alright. Fine. That is generally what went on ion my head before I decided to actually write this post. However, I feel immensely tired at the moment and don't really feel like explaining why people fear pain. I’ll let you try to figure this tricky one out. No; instead I will explain the origins of the word, and a few exceptions, as well as when this is out of the ordinary. The word agliophobia is a mix between the prefix aglio and the word phobia. Phobia is derived from the Greek god of fear, Phobos. Aglio is derived from the Greek word Aglo, which means pain. Similar to how amaxophobia has different phobia words that mean the same thing, agliophobia has the following synonyms: Odynophobia, Odynephobia, and Od...
