Acarophobia

Acrarophobia - Fear of Itching / Fear of Insects
Ok. So to start off, I had thought that Acarophobia seemed pretty silly, but then I found out that it was more than the fear of itching, but that it is actually particularly devastating in the way that the body is impacted.————————
WORD FACTS:
Acarophobia is derived from the Latin root, Acaro, which means “mites” and for an obvious reason when you consider the insect side of the phobia.

SCIENCE:
The fear of insects is largely a disgust responce to their shapes and colors. However, most of what causes an overactive hippocampus responce to the natural fear of insects that is caused by nothing other than, wait for it... evolution. But of course there is the predisposition that some people have as a result of a combination of genetics, environmental factors, and bad luck. But enough of that, here is when things get disturbing. (and itchy)

Symptoms:
There ar many symptoms for pretty much every phobia, a lot are shared by all; Acarophobia symptoms include (and I am saving the “best” for last):
• Dread
• Shortness of Breath
• Rapid Breathing
• Heart Palpitations
• Excessive Sweating
• Nausea
• Dry Mouth
• Confusion
• Inability to Articulate Clearly
• Lack of Focus
• Irritability
• Shaking
• Feelings of Powerlessness
• Obsession
• Headaches
• Excessive Cleaning
• Social Isolation
• Obesity
• Crying at Inapropriate Times
• Mental Disorders such as Schizophrenia, Depression, and Delusionary Parasitosis
Delusionary Parasitosis is a mental disorder where there are false sensations of tingling, crawling, biting, prickling, or burrowing on the skin, which will lead to the suffererer scratching themselves constantly, not leaving time for the skin to recover, leading to self-mutilation and profuse bleeding.
It is because of these symptoms, that I do believe Acarophobia to be one of the worst to have because it can cripple the mind and spirit like most phobias, but it also can cripple the sufferer’s body.

The CARD:
When I made the first Acarophobia card, covering the itching aspect of it, I didn’t yet cover the research and I thought that it was a pretty clever unhinged card, so I kept it despite the terrifying (pun intended) nature of Acarophobia IRL. As for the insect side of the matter, I had to resort to my basic phobia card formula, because I, sadly was unable to come up with something better and more creative. I had opened it up to the cardsmith forum community, but sadly nobody suggested anything. If anyone has any good ideas for the insect card, I will accept them with open arms. (Keep in mind, I will only make revisions after I complete the phobias of the given letter. In this case, I am still in the “a”s. So sorry for the delay.

  2. As for the cards: I love seeing an uncard, as I adore the un-sets. The card seems a touch overcosted - how often does that happen? I think it'd be reasonable at {1}{b}.
For the legit card, modern design would probably use "insects you control" over all insects. That would also most likely drive the cmc down by a generic mana.
