Alektorophobia

Alektorophobia - The Fear of Chickens
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WORD FACTS:
Alektorophobia is derived from the Greek root, alektoro, which comes from the Greek word Alektor, which means rooster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
SCIENCE:
Alektorophobia is an isolated phobia, meaning that as far as people are aware, it is simply a combination of bad luck, genetics, and trauma. I am so sorry that I cannot provide a more interesting explanation.
But I do have a couple fun facts:
- Alektorophobia will sometimes (and this is very rare) also encompass chicken eggs and dead chickens, such as you might find in a grocery store.
- Some sufferers will claim that chickens are not stupid but rather "****ing clever conspiratorial beasts" and aggressive.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SYMPTOMS:
Symptoms of Alektorophobia include:
- Extreme Anxiety
- Dread
- Shortness of Breath
- Hyperventilation
- Heart Palpitations
- Excessive Sweating
- Nausea
- Dry Mouth
- Confusion
- Inability to Articulate Clearly
- Irritability
- Shaking
- Feelings of Powerlessness
- Avoidance Behaviors
- Headaches
- Anxiety/Panic Attacks
- Gastrointestinal Problems

THE CARD:
I actually didn't put much thought into this one and I am open to and welcoming constructive criticism on it and am willing to change it.

Thank you so much for reading my blog and bearing with me as I can't seem to keep any promises about schedule. Though I do have an ANNOUNCEMENT that I a rue having to say. My bank account has been frozen, so I am no longer a premium member on Cardsmith. Most of my cards use at least one of the premium member privileges and I will have to stall the creation of new cards. I will continue to post research, but at a slower rate. If any kind soul would be so generous as to gift me a month of premium membership, I would use that month to the fullest to create as many cards as I can so that I can blog at my usual schedule from before.
The next post will be on Allodoxaphobia, the fear of others opinions. I am proud of my research and my card concept. Have a terrifyingly great day everyone!
